Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Attendance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and improving student attendance, working closely with students, parents, and staff to address attendance issues and promote a culture of punctuality and regular attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily student attendance and punctuality, identifying patterns and trends.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and update the school's attendance management system.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student absences and lateness.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to address attendance concerns.
  • Implement strategies and interventions to improve attendance rates.
  • Prepare and present attendance reports for senior leadership and governing bodies.
  • Conduct home visits when necessary to support families in improving student attendance.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and school policies related to attendance.
  • Promote the importance of regular attendance through assemblies, newsletters, and other communication channels.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using attendance management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in attendance management.
