IT Value Management Lead

6 month contract (likely to be extended)

Mostly remote working - workshops in the office every quarter - Havant/Reading/Scotland

The Value Realisation Office is responsible for working with the Head of IT Platform Change and Transformation to shape and drive value realisation including performance reporting across the Group IT portfolio and investment programme. This includes providing transparency and clarity of investment made in IT versus technical outcomes realised and translating them in a way where they are clearly traceable to Business and IT Strategic goals.

Core aspects of the role are:

Working with Head of IT Platform Change and Transformation to review how we currently deliver value.

Working across Portfolio's and potentially business units to determine performance against the outcomes

Providing appropriate reports at different levels of value performance for key stakeholders ensuring correct breadth and depth of reporting according to stakeholder needs.

Making continual recommendations for improvements across the IT investment Portfolio based on trends noticed.

Provide guidance and drive behaviours to execute the desired outcomes, creating a value-based culture

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Define reporting and enable measurement of value realisation across Group IT portfolio - supporting and influencing Business Unit IT delivery teams to realise value through their respective IT investments

Implement a value oversight framework through working with Head of IT Platform and Change Transformation to agree reporting cadence and ways of working.

Review value objectives and their definition quarterly to ensure the portfolio is aligned to business strategy

Look at development of value reporting through Service Now tool transitioning away from excel and power BI methods where and when appropriate

Champion value realisation through educating and influencing stakeholders to understand how to translate technical deliverables into Business value delivered.

Drive a focus on value delivery and ROI across the Group IT portfolio

Enable articulation of value to senior audiences , articulate how value delivered moves the needle on overarching strategic objectives for both the Business and IT.

Proactively participate in investment planning to identify what investment proposals will deliver most value against strategic outcomes and safety measures by containing risk.

Essential Skills

Experience in actively working across IT change portfolios and translating technical outcomes to business strategy

Previous experience in managing complex programmes of work including management of complex dependencies and risks.

Ability to understand, influence and shape IT Strategy and linking it to large complex programmes of work.

Experience working within a large scale IT environment

Strong business acumen, understanding of business context and situations - driving broader business outcomes

Strong communication, facilitation and coaching skills - ability to influence at all levels of the organisation and build strong relationships

Knowledge of technological terminology, understanding of agile practices, portfolio management capabilities (ideally in an agile environment) and tools

Continual Improvement mindset

Ability to work with senior stakeholders distil complex business value information into business aligned metrics

Ability to work within a fast-moving environment while also driving toward clarity and solutions

Ability to influence others and implement change at all levels within the IT organisation

Adaptable, confident and approachable with excellent influencing skills. Persuasive, encouraging and motivating - able to influence diverse stakeholders in complex, challenging and frequently changeable environments.

Adept at working to tight deadlines, with a flexible nature to respond to changing priorities. Ability to prioritise work and succeed in high-pressure environments.

Significant experience of interaction at director level within a FTSE-100 or equivalent sized organisations.

Significant experience in coaching and supporting programme, project and change management and providing professional advice to senior leaders.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, both formal and informal, delivered through a variety of channels.
