Job Title: Management Accountant

Proactive Personnel are currently searching for a Management Accountant on behalf of a global manufacturer at their Manchester site, Trafford Park. Our client is a global leading manufacturing company that supplies their product in to some of the world's biggest brands.

Reporting to the Finance Director, responsible for all day to day accounting activity, including preparation of monthly management accounts, ad hoc analysis for the Finance Director and supervision of AR & AP functions. Works closely with management team and other associates to provide financial analysis and guidance to help promote revenue growth and maximize profits. Ensures a continuous improvement focus, evaluates business situations to identify improvement ideas and support project prioritization and completion.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Cash Flow Forecasts.
  • Manage new and existing customer accounts including overall credit limits.
  • Provide accurate, timely monthly financial reports.
  • Monitor business performance by investigating financial trends and financial statement variances. & communicate findings to other associates.
  • Maintain accurate product costs to enable accurate inventory valuation and product margin analysis.
  • Maintenance of pricing through the Aurora system
  • Ensure compliance with all local tax authorities and government reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Budget. Monitor monthly progress against the Budget and the business plan.
  • Lead the annual audit by preparing audit schedules and reports as required; liaise with the local audit team.
  • Maintain relevant records to track fixed assets and various depreciation schedules for financial reporting, tax compliance and insurance program.
  • Other tasks as reasonably required by the Finance Director.

Skill requirements

  • Knowledgeable and experienced (prefer 3-5 years) in accounting, finance, tax planning.
  • Professional Qualifications / defined plan to obtain professional qualifications.
  • Computer literate with excellent MS Excel skills
  • Possesses good interpersonal skills.
  • People Management
  • Strong learner, demonstrated ability to stay current with laws, trends and improvements in the field.
  • Time Management & Prioritization

(Desirable)

  • Experience in multi-currency role
  • Experience working for a manufacturing company
  • CIMA or equivalent
  • Driving licence as some travel is required to their other sites
