Meat Production Operative

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Location: Aberdeen
  • Salary: £11.44 to £14.26 per hour

Day to Day of the role:

  • Perform slaughter, dressing, and preparation of carcasses and edible offal at line speed.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing processes and adapt to new methods of working.
  • Complete assigned tasks promptly to meet daily production targets.
  • Maintain product quality, reporting any issues to the Line Supervisor immediately.
  • Prepare for daily production by setting up the line, completing checks, and ensuring materials are ready.
  • Conduct all prestart, hygiene, and safety checks as instructed.
  • Adhere to Company SOP's, quality specifications, and yield values.
  • Follow Company's knife and health and safety rules, including hygiene requirements.
  • Report equipment issues and assist with investigations of any incidents as necessary.
  • Minimise waste and report appropriately.
  • Prepare carcasses and offal to required standards, maintaining tools and equipment securely.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to Company Values; Passion for food, Ambition, Responsibility, and Teamwork.
  • Significant experience in slaughter and/or knife skills preferred.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume meat processing factory is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work in a warm environment and perform manual handling tasks.
  • Flexibility to meet daily production targets and adapt to change.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to interact with a diverse workforce.
