The Role:

The school are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. The successful candidate will work closely with our special education teachers to support the learning and development of children with a range of educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children with special educational needs, including those with ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Facilitate small group activities and one-to-one support sessions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to promote student well-being.
  • Monitor and report on student progress.
  • Contribute to a positive, nurturing, and safe learning environment.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, encouraging attitude.
