Job Description:

Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Intermediate MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our MEP projects, ensuring cost control, and maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and financial reports.
  • Tendering: Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Valuations: Conduct regular site visits to assess work progress and prepare interim valuations.
  • Variations: Identify, evaluate, and manage variations to the contract, ensuring accurate documentation and cost control.
  • Subcontractor Management: Evaluate subcontractor quotations, negotiate terms, and manage subcontractor payments.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize financial impact.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed cost reports and present findings to senior management and clients.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant standards, codes, and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in MEP quantity surveying, preferably with a Tier 2 contractor.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, CostX, Bluebeam).
  • Certifications: Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is advantageous.
