This role is crucial in providing support to young people leaving care, those who have faced homelessness, and unaccompanied children seeking asylum. Position: Care Leavers Support Worker
Location: Community-based and Shared Living Settings across Coventry
Hours: 37.5 hours per week across 5 days
Shift Pattern: Combination of Early Shifts (8:00 - 16:00) and Late Shifts (14:15 - 22:15)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to young people in their own accommodation or shared living environments.
- Develop and implement support plans that promote independence and well-being.
- Assist with daily living tasks, budgeting, and accessing education, employment, or training opportunities.
- Build positive relationships and act as a role model.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of the young people in your care.
- Collaborate with external agencies and services to provide comprehensive support.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to regular reviews of the support provided.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle (mileage paid in addition to hourly rate).
- Relevant experience in a similar role or working with young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Flexibility to work across early and late shifts.
