Caretaker - Mixed Use Development, Central London

Our Client is seeking an experience Caretaker to work at one of their luxury mixed use developments based in Central London, handling both residential units and office spaces.

The ideal candidate will have previous Caretaker / Estate Op / experience within a similar environment, and will be computer literate as well as confident in handling general upkeep and waste management on site. Previous experience or a passion for gardening will also be beneficial in maintaining the residents courtyard and green spaces.

Working Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

Salary will be £25 - 27,000 pa depending on experience

Location: Central London, commuting options from Farringdon & Chancery Lane stations

Main Duties:

  • Keeping all external and internal communal areas clean, tidy and well-maintained.
  • Making sure all communal facilities are in working order.
  • Weekly Fire alarm, emergency lighting, water flushing, AOV doors and windows check.
  • Maintenance of the development including light painting, plumbing and plastering.
  • Performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks as required.
  • Monitoring cleaning materials and tools.
  • Seasonal Garden and Grounds Maintenance.
  • Providing relevant reports on works carried out and any external contractor arrangements made.
  • Adhering to the company's safety policies to create a safe working environment for everyone.
  • Be fully conversant with the location of stop cocks, gas and electricity cut-off switches relating to communal areas and blocks, and contact numbers for utility emergency reporting.
  • Be willing to attend any training courses such as Health & Safety awareness.
  • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures for the site.

Person Specification

  • The ability to carry out work with a high level of accuracy, ensuring attention to detail
  • Computer confident & literate.
  • A proactive approach to the presentation and finish of site
  • The ability to work unsupervised and take initiative.
  • This is a physically demanding role and thus the right person needs to have a high level of stamina and be capable of moving heavy items when required.
  • Manage and prioritise a wide range of tasks and duties, both complex and routine.
  • Having a welcoming and helpful approach when dealing with visitors to the building.
  • Working trade knowledge or understanding of electricals/carpentry/plumbing is advantageous.

This position is currently vacant, and our client is willing to consider temp to perm options carried out through PMR, a short or immediate notice will be beneficial but not essential to this role.
