Interim Subcontract Manager

Purpose of the Role (Overview):

  • The main purpose of this role is to provide sub-contract management support to the ESMCP and NATO JEWCS Programmes with the organisation involving managing critical subcontracts and ensuring compliance with internal and external governance and legislation.
  • This role reports to the Head of Procurement but will work closely with the Programme Directors, Commercial Manager, Engineers and Project Managers for both Programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining collaborative and commercially robust business relationships with sub-contractors.
  • Generation and issue of RFQ packs and running pricing competitions (where applicable).
  • Generation, negotiation and maintenance of sub-contractor contracts alongside relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Undertake internal governance reviews and obtain necessary financial/ programme approvals.
  • Managing sub-contracts to ensure the on-time, on-cost, on-quality delivery of tailored high value, sophisticated sub-systems and services.
  • Resolving any sub-contract issues/conflicts, whilst ensuring efficient and effective communication with all relevant internal stakeholders to ensure risk mitigation.
  • Risk and opportunity management and safeguarding the interests of the organisation.

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Experience in procurement/subcontract management - negotiation, contract and/or terms and conditions management.
  • Business, procurement or supply chain qualification/accreditation (degree/CIPS) or equivalent experience.
  • UK MoD contracts knowledge - desirable.
  • SC Clearance -preferred.
