  • Based in Northampton
  • £25,000 - £30,000 salary
  • Monday - Friday
  • Hybrid, in office 3 days, reducing to 2 after service
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays

Job specification:

  • Manage payroll processing on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual basis (or as specified) for a diverse clientele of varying sizes across multiple industries.
  • Handle the onboarding and offboarding of employees, including the calculation of statutory payments, Real Time Information (RTI) submissions, and pension deductions.
  • Calculate auto-enrolment pension contributions, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Upload pension contributions and new employee information to the relevant pension portals.
  • Prepare and distribute P45s, P60s, Starter Declarations, and other necessary documentation as required.
  • Collaborate directly with clients to verify payroll data accuracy, address phone inquiries, resolve issues, and provide payroll support.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, colleagues, Directors, and HM Revenue & Customs.
  • Assist clients in the day-to-day management of their payroll systems.
  • Adhere to best practices and follow internal administrative protocols.
  • Always maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Participate in training sessions as needed.

Person specification:

  • Must have at least 1-2 years' experience of working in a Payroll team.
  • Educated to A Level standard (or equivalent).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in IT with the ability to quickly learn new software packages.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, even when working under pressure.
  • Highly organised and adept at following established procedures.
  • Calm, confident, and professional in demeanour.
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a logical approach.
  • Willingness to stay updated on legislative changes.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Experience with Benefits in Kind (BiK) is an advantage.
