Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Officer for a 6 month contract on a rate of £18.01/hour PAYE. This role will be a based onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support and advice as required to Cashiers and Finance Managers (to include on-site support), analysing establishment monthly returns, and highlighting areas of non-compliance and potential risk.
- Responsibility for the authorisation of establishment bankline payments, prisoner funds returns and cashbook payments.
- Responsibility for the processing of changes to banking authorities.
- Responsible for managing the cashbook month and year end process and assisting establishments with month and year end reconciliations including any other responsibilities as may be directed from time to time by the Finance Business Partner in relation to reconciliations and banking as required.
- To assist with the completion of various month and year end reconciliations and accounting schedules, ensuring that these withstand detailed audit scrutiny and assisting the auditors with their enquiries.
- Provide training to cashiers/relief cashiers as and when required.
Essential Skills:
- Hold a financial qualification at HNC level or above or willing to work towards e.g. AAT, CAT
- Extensive reconciliation experience with the ability to resolve reconciling issues in a timely manner.
- Experience of working in a finance environment using finance systems.
- Knowledge and experience of cashbook.
