Site & Facilities Manager

Our client is seeking to recruit a full-time Site & Facilities Manager join their small team, at their fabulous site based in South Cambridge. As the Site & Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds, buildings, facilities, and other amenities based onsite. You will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to perform general building maintenance tasks to a good standard, including carpentry, plumbing, electrics, painting, and more.

Candidates will be able to demonstrate previous experience within the buildings and facilities maintenance, including the specifics listed above. You will have an excellent customer-focussed manner and be a friendly and enthusiastic team player, with a flexible attitude to assist and provide support wherever needed.

This is a full-time role, working 40 hours a week (on a rota of 5 out of 7 days, including 2 weekends a month). Benefits include enhanced annual leave entitlement, annual bonus and TOIL for any overtime worked.

Key Duties

  • Managing a team of facilities and grounds staff
  • Managing the maintenance and upkeep of all areas and building on site
  • Procure and maintain all necessary equipment for the efficient operation of the site
  • Managing the provision of all essential services to, from and around the site including telephone lines, internet, electricity, water, sewage and refuse
  • Ensure site security systems are up to date and in place
  • Acting as one of our Duty Managers on a shared rota basis, this may include weekend work
  • Carry out various duties for Head Office and external company projects on a regular basis
  • Ensure high service standards and employee productivity

Key Skills

  • Woodland management skills, including chainsaw tickets
  • Experience using horticultural machinery
  • An ability to perform general building maintenance tasks to a good standard, including carpentry, plumbing, electrics, painting, and more
  • Ability to prioritise your workload around variables such as weather and emergencies
  • A proactive approach to an extensive, year-round task list
  • Organised and driven individual
  • Open to working weekends and bank holidays
  • Team player with a can-do attitude
  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Be IT literate and able to operate Microsoft Office 365
  • Willingness to work with a hands-on mentality to get projects over the line
  • A Full UK driving license
  • Ability to work to a budget and annual targets
  • Obtainable references from recent employers
