Legal Assistant - Residential Conveyancing

A well-respected firm established based in Portsmouth, known for providing high-quality, professional, and reliable services are currently seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support their conveyancing team. This role is ideal for someone with at least 1 year of conveyancing experience, looking to further their career in a supportive and professional environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist the department's Fee Earners with all aspects of conveyancing transactions including preparing documentation, checking Titles, obtaining Office Copy Entries, and requesting searches.
- Liaise with clients, referrers, solicitors, and estate agents through telephone enquiries, daily correspondence, and face-to-face meetings.
- Respond to all enquiries promptly, whether via email, telephone, or in person.
- Handle administrative tasks such as producing letters and legal documents like contracts, and preparing bills.
- Utilise a Case Management System (DPS) effectively.
- Organise daily workload and adapt to ever-changing priorities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent Maths and English skills.
- Experience working within a busy legal environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Effective use of IT skills.
- Proven organisational and administration skills.
- Ability to produce accurate work.
- Desirable: Familiarity with case management and accountancy software, preferably DPS.
- Desirable: 5 x A – C GCSE's or equivalent including Maths and English; 2 x A Levels or equivalent.
