Facilities and Maintenance Officer

Posted by Tulip Recruitment.

We're seeking a practical, hands-on Facilities and Maintenance Officer to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our client's buildings, services, and grounds. If you're someone with strong DIY and maintenance skills, a proactive mindset, and a sharp eye for safety and detail, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for maintaining the facilities to a high standard—covering everything from basic repairs to ensuring the site is tidy, safe, and fit for purpose. While some specialist tasks (such as those involving electricity and gas) will be handled by approved subcontractors, you will play a key role in reporting, supporting, and liaising with them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain buildings, car park, gardens, and external areas
  • Support preparation and dispatch of orders
  • Carry out manual handling tasks (e.g., organising storage, moving deliveries)
  • Escort subcontractors and manage deliveries/removals
  • Perform light maintenance, basic cleaning, and general upkeep tasks
  • Drive company vehicles for collections, deliveries, and errands
  • Identify and report defects or hazards in facilities and vehicles
  • Keep maintenance documentation and records updated
  • Support one-off projects and company initiatives as needed
  • Follow all company rules and maintain strict confidentiality and safety standards

You will have:

  • Experience in general DIY, building, or facilities maintenance
  • Knowledge of safe tool and machinery use
  • A sound understanding of Health & Safety practices
  • Good communication skills and fluent English (spoken and written)
  • A methodical, solution-focused approach to work
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
  • A full, clean driving licence (Category B) with strong driving experience
