Receptionist

This is a great opportunity to Join our client's medical practice in Durrington in a dual role where you'll serve as a crucial member of the team, balancing responsibilities as both a Receptionist and a Dispenser. Your contribution as the Receptionist and Dispenser will be pivotal in providing administrative support, exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, efficient management of stock, and ensuring smooth dispensary operations.

As the Receptionist you will be responsible for:

Administrative Support and Reception Duties:

  • Input and manage data via computer systems, including patient registrations, prescription requests, and test results, utilizing practice-specific software (familiarity with MS Word and Excel is essential).
  • Greet and assist patients and visitors courteously, managing inquiries and phone calls following practice protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized reception area, consulting rooms, and waiting areas, and ensure sufficient stock of stationery and consumables.
  • Assist with patient registrations, appointments, and prescription-related tasks, ensuring accuracy and timely handling of medications and payments.
  • Manage filing systems meticulously, maintaining medical records and correspondence in an organized manner.

Dispensing and Stock Management:

  • Reorder stock daily, accurately log and record stock following procedures to minimize wastage and ensure proper storage.
  • Manage refrigerated items and uphold temperature control standards, promptly returning incorrect stock.
  • Order goods through the wholesaler's system, conduct regular checks to remove expired stock and handle dispensing-related correspondence.
  • Participate in audits, attend training sessions and clinical meetings, and maintain CPD records for professional development.
  • Alert team members to quality and risk issues, assess performance and contribute to significant event auditing.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and suggest improvements by reflecting on activities and workflow enhancements.

To be successful in this position you will ideally have:

  • Proficiency in computer usage, including MS Word, MS Excel, and familiarity with clinical systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail for managing data, appointments, and filing systems effectively.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with maintaining cleanliness and adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Proficiency in dispensing procedures, stock management, and adherence to procedures and guidelines.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and improve computer skills.

We are keen to speak with you if you have proven experience working as a receptionist or in a similar role - training will be provided for the dispensary responsibilities and qualification.

This role is working shifts from Monday - Friday at 30 hours per week. The shifts are as follows:

Monday - 08:00 - 18:30.

Wednesday - 08:00 - 18.30.

Friday - 08:00 - 18:30.
