BI Developer - SQL, Data Modelling, Power BI

We are looking for a BI Developer for an initial 3 month contract, based onsite in Glasgow once every 1-2 weeks.

Responsibilities:

Report & Dashboard Development:

  • Design and implement sustainable reports, dashboards, and data visualizations tailored to align with business requirements.

Tabular Model Expertise:

  • Apply an advanced understanding in the design, construction, and optimization of tabular models within Power BI.

DAX Development:

  • Exhibit proficiency in creating intermediate-level DAX measures to enhance data models and visualizations.

Data Communication:

  • Effectively communicate data insights and findings to business analysts and internal stakeholders, playing a pivotal role in guiding the decision-making process.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work cohesively with team members to share and disseminate new Power BI features, as well as established best practices.

Agile Methodologies:

  • Display an advanced understanding of Agile methodologies, ensuring iterative development and continuous feedback in the BI development process.

Background & Qualifications:

  • Strong SQL experience
  • Experience with Data Modelling
  • Microsoft Fabric experience desirable

Power BI:

  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Power BI, showcasing a track record of robust solution development.

Additional Development Tools:

  • Ability to work with supporting tools such as Tabular Editor and DAX Studio to craft high-quality Power BI solutions.
  • Currently implementing Microsoft Fabric - so any previous experience with this would be a bonus.

SQL Expertise:

  • Proven proficiency in SQL for efficient data querying and manipulation. Experience with Databricks is a plus, though not mandatory.

Communication:

  • Possess exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with a knack for conveying complex technical concepts in an understandable manner to a varied audience
