Our returning client is looking for a Head Gardener to oversee a team of 5 full time gardeners at a beautiful property in Virginia Water.
The gardens extend to 7 acres, 3 of which are well established, and the other 4 are under development by a leading garden designer.
The established gardens have an incredible array of interesting specimens that need a knowledgeable gardener to care for them appropriately. The grounds include: formal gardens, lawns, growing area, wildflower meadow, orchard, lake and stream, Japanese garden, Jurassic area with tree ferns, large kitchen garden and a grotto.
There is audio and lighting as well as security to maintain and you will need to liaise closely with the property manager and household teams.
The family love spending time in the gardens, and it is a real passion of the principal who is very involved in their development.
The ideal candidate will have good horticultural knowledge and experience managing a small team. You will need to be confident liaising with the Principal directly and a good communicator, both in person and in writing.
Requirements:

- management experience
- ideally prior experience working in a private setting
- excellent communication & IT skills -fluent English
- driver with own vehicle
There is accommodation available but it is only suitable for individuals without dependants.
Start date: September
Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm some weekend cover for occasional events paid as overtime.
