Financial Controller

Posted by Natalie Wells Recruitment.

Do you recognise the frustration that can build when wrestling with the seeming inertia that can prevail in large organisations?

Here, things are different.

This is a pivotal time for this business, with a company-wide transformation, new joint ventures, emerging revenue streams, and a £700m pipeline of committed investments set to accelerate growth.

And guess what? Your role will be at the heart of it all!

As the Financial Controller, you'll own every aspect of the financial reporting cycle. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality reports across the group, joint ventures, and subsidiaries.

This broad role encompasses statutory and regulatory reporting, management reporting, finance operations, and providing strategic financial insights to support key decision-making.

Given the technical expertise required in IFRS/FRS 102 accounting standards, it's anticipated you'll be ACA or ACCA-qualified with extensive post-qualification experience, ideally gained in a large, complex private, PIE, or PLC environment.

Not every Financial Controller role is the same.

With the resilience that comes from experience, you may still consider this role from a Finance Director level. We're open to that.

To succeed in this dynamic environment, you'll need to demonstrate proactive leadership in a fast-paced, high-change environment and significant experience in financial reporting for complex group consolidations.

A multi-million-pound investment in a new ERP system is progressing nicely, so experience in guiding a Finance team through system changes-and the subsequent transformation in business processes-will be invaluable.

You'll be well-supported, working with high-calibre colleagues.

In your critical oversight role, you'll lead a team of four direct reports and ultimately manage a team of 40.

Natalie Wells Recruitment has partnered exclusively with this business to recruit five newly created senior roles over the past five years. All remain with the company today, with several having been promoted.

While the work is demanding, they report that it's also a fun and rewarding place to be.

This is a values-led organisation that genuinely makes a positive impact in our communities.

You'll be competitively compensated, with a salary ranging from £100,000 to £125,000.

Plus a substantial bonus, pension, healthcare, and access to a wide range of benefits plus the flexibility to work hybrid: three days in the office and two days working from home.
