Academics are a local education recruitment agency with a large presence across Southampton and Hampshire, we're looking for dedicated and qualified supply teachers to join our secondary team. We have work available from September for both day-to-day supply and long-term cover.
Joining our team of local Secondary Teachers, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons to secondary pupils across a range of subjects (KS3-KS4)
- Maintaining a calm and engaging learning environment
- Following the schools policies and procedures
- Monitoring pupils participation during lessons
- Implementing methods that encourages active learning
You will need to be available between 8:30am - 3:30pm and be local to the area.
Secondary Teachers with Academics will join for various reasons. Whether you are hoping for a more balanced, flexible work schedule, would like to gain more classroom experience before embarking on a permanent role or are only looking to work for a short stint, we can help.
Not only do we help people find regular supply work, we also support our client schools to secure top teachers for their short & long term contract work and Permanent roles.
Secondary Teachers will require:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to lead and deliver lessons
- Strong classroom management skills
- The ability to provide structure and build positive relationships
- To be adaptable to work in a variety of schools
