PA & HR Manager

Your new role
PA duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting the MD; and the wider management team with all business aspects
  • Managing and collecting staff data in collaboration with the MD for the British Isles, the Administrative & Finance Director, and the QHSE
  • Handling internal and external enquiries and requests related to the branch.
  • Writing and submitting reports on general HR and branch activities, in conjunction with the MD for the British Isles, the Administrative & Finance Director, and the VCGP Head Office.
  • Line managing the Branch Office Administrator and the HS2 Project Mobilisation Assistant.
  • Facilitating client and stakeholder liaison in conjunction with the MD for the British Isles.
  • Employee liaison and support

HR duties and responsibilities:

  • In liaison with the Administration and Finance Director, providing human resources services for the area.
  • Overseeing recruitment, selection, on and offboarding process
  • Carry out employees' right to work checks and visa applications
  • Managing a company's appraisal system and conducting appraisal meetings
  • Monitoring, updating and advising staff and managers on HR policies and procedures
  • Ensuring that a company's procedures comply with employment regulations
  • Monitoring various aspects of an employee's performance, such as attendance and sick leave
  • Advising & Supporting managers on all ER issues Handling any disciplinary processes and formal grievances
  • Benchmarking and reviewing pay structures and employee perks and benefits in conjunction with MD British Isles and Administrative & Finance Director
  • To monitor staff turnover and ensuring that exit interviews are carried out, analysing and reporting on findings
  • Updating Employee Handbook Compiling and maintaining paper, digital and electronic employee records, including holiday and sickness leaves
  • Learning development and training, implementing training programs and training requests.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • French language beneficial
  • Good understanding of UK HR Systems & processes
  • Prior knowledge of UK visas & immigration system
  • Good IT skills, including knowledge of a range of software packages
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honesty and reliability
  • Attention to detail
  • Discretion and an understanding of confidentiality issues.
