Finance Assistant

The new Finance Assistant will be dealing with transactional processing, purchase and sales ledgers and balance sheets. You will love organisation and attention to detail.

Client Details

Our client is a well-established Not For Profit organisation with over 4000 employees. They are firmly rooted in Birmingham, with a focus on community development and education.

Description

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Transactional processing: Purchase ledger - high volume, sales ledger, receipts & Payments
  • Purchase ledger maintenance: BACS payments, reconciliations, debit balances, supplier account creation
  • Sales ledger maintenance: Invoice management, debt chasing
  • Bank account maintenance: reconciliation, filing, administration, payment runs
  • Finance systems: creation of accounts, resolve queries
  • Other duties: from credit card queries to ad hoc support to colleagues

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

  • Good working knowledge of accounting processes
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Comfortable with working on a largely transactional role
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software (ideally familiar with systems such as Sage 50, Oracle, PSF or SAP and be an advanced user of Excel)
  • You will be reliable, accurate and willing to get stuck in as part of a collaborative and highly supportive team
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Offer

  • Monday - Friday - working from home 4 days per week
  • 37 hours per week - working hours to suit you
  • £24,500 per annum
  • 6 month contract
