Search Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with an established business in Edinburgh to support the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant on a part-time (20 hours per week), permanent basis.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will manage day to day accounting and bookkeeping for several companies across the group. If you're an experienced bookkeeper looking to join a small and supportive team, you'd be encouraged to apply.
What's in it for you:
- A full-time equivalent salary of £25k - £27k (12.5k-13.5k pro rata), depending on experience.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Record and reconcile daily bank transactions, including daily and monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Process and manage invoices, expense forms and payment requests.
- Handle petty cash transactions and prepare monthly invoices.
- Prepare payments for authorisation and input into ledgers.
- Deliver credit control.
- Assist in producing VAT returns and maintain accurate records.
- Provide ad-hoc office support including printing, filing and maintaining supplies.
Skills and experience you'll ideally have:
- Proven experience in a high-volume processing environment, ideally within SME businesses.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable producing VAT returns.
- Strong organisational skills, time management and a methodical approach.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency using accounting software and Excel.
