The aim is to create a nurturing environment where every student can achieve their full potential.Role Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support a class of 9 pupils in years 10-13 with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and autism. You will work closely with the classroom teacher to deliver tailored educational activities, support individual learning needs, and help foster a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere.Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet the needs of students with SLD and autism.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils, focusing on individual learning and development.
  • Adapt educational materials and activities to ensure accessibility for all students.
  • Support students in developing social and communication skills.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist with personal care needs as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SLD and autism is essential.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
