Position Title: Personal Tax Adviser

Employer: A Chartered Accountants Firm

Employment Type: Part-time with flexible working hours available (Full-time may be considered)

This accountancy practice boasts an excellent reputation for client care and commercial insight. The practice provides a range of accountancy, tax, and financial consulting services to a diverse client base, including individuals, sole traders, partnerships, and small limited companies, with a focus on growth businesses and entrepreneurs. The team is known for its dedicated, supportive working and training environment, offering opportunities to work with a variety of private clients and high-net-worth individuals.

Purpose of the Role:

This position is ideal for an experienced Chartered Tax Adviser who enjoys providing advice in their areas of expertise. The successful candidate will have ample opportunities to deliver advisory work and develop their own advisory portfolio. While the role includes managing a modest Private Client compliance portfolio, the primary responsibility will be providing ad hoc advice in specialised areas. These areas may include Inheritance Tax (IHT), Non-Resident/Non-Domicile issues, Tax Efficient Remuneration Planning and Structuring, Corporation Tax, Research & Development, Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS), Trusts, Capital Gains Tax, or other areas of interest. The role also offers the chance to explore new areas of expertise with appropriate support.

Principal Duties:

  • Conduct initial client meetings to discuss needs
  • Deliver tailored advice to clients throughout the entire process
  • Research tax issues and solutions
  • Manage a small portfolio of tax returns, from client requests to submissions
  • Review work of junior team members
  • Identify and promote new tax advisory opportunities for existing and new clients

Requirements

Role Requirements:

  • CTA qualified with experience advising on Personal Tax matters
  • Personable yet professional communication skills with clients
  • Highly organised with excellent time management abilities
  • Ability to meet deadlines and monitor performance targets
  • Evidence of prior tax advisory experience may be requested
