Head of Further Education - Engineering, Automotive and Green Skills

This is a full time role, working 37 hours per week.

Day to day duties

  • To support the Curriculum Lead to design and develop a class-based curriculum that meets the needs of learners, supports growth, and enables them to develop the skills they need to progress.
  • To effectively lead, manage, and develop the implementation of class-based curriculum ensuring that it supports a high-quality experience.
  • To motivate and develop a team of staff who can deliver an outstanding quality of education for learners on class-based learning programmes.
  • To work collaboratively with cross-college teams to ensure the wider knowledge, skills and behaviours learners need are planned and developed coherently.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Vocational qualification at a minimum of Level 3, Which is appropriate to the Engineering, Automotive and Green Skills sector.
  • A Level 4 Teaching Qualification.
  • Experience of working with national governing or accrediting bodies (e.g. Engineering Council, EAL, City and Guilds, NOCN, Pearson etc. )
  • A breadth of knowledge, understanding and professional experience of the Engineering, Automotive and Green Skills sector.
