The Role

We are seeking a Part-Time Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) with a minimum of 8 years' experience in the construction industry to join our dynamic team. This role involves comprehensive building services design, covering power distribution, lighting, security systems, access control, fire safety, and cable sizing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering designs, calculations, and drawings for various projects, ensuring coordination with mechanical designers and other specialists
  • Developing designs from initial concepts to detailed specifications, including site visits for refurbishment projects
  • Conducting inspections, fault finding, and maintenance assessments
  • Managing projects and leading team personnel

Main Duties:

  • Write Feasibility Studies
  • Undertake M&E equipment surveys
  • Producing detailed design calculations
  • Complete designs through Amtech
  • Production of drawings with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Liaise with specialist agencies and suppliers
  • Interpret and assist with Building Regulations Part L, BREEAM and SAP calculations
  • Attend design team meetings
  • Oversee and inspection of installation work

Hours:

  • 22.5 hours per week

Qualifications:

  • Degree or HND in a relevant subject
  • Ideally Chartered Engineer

Experience:

  • At least 8 years of broad experience across retail, commercial, and residential projects

Attributes:

  • Flexible, articulate, and well-presented
  • Proficient in Amtech, AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office
  • Full UK driving license
