What is the Role?

We have ambitious net zero targets, and our business is growing to help us achieve our strategy. We're looking for finance graduates who can bring fresh ideas, new skills and creative thinking, to deliver innovative solutions to help us reach net zero. This is an exciting time to join SSE, you have the power to make a change and help us build a better, more sustainable world of energy for you, your family, the community you live in and for generations to come.

Our Finance Graduate programme lasts for three years and combines academic study with work based experience – you'll be studying towards the prestigious ICAS Chartered Accountancy qualification while working across the various different Finance areas of the SSE businesses. Our Finance Graduate programme is rotational, and your three year programme will include time with our divisions: Networks, Renewables, Thermal and our Group Finance functions: Treasury, Internal Audit and Corporate Finance, providing you with a great opportunity to gain first-hand experience in a FTSE 100 Finance team. You'll be working alongside experts in each of your chosen finance areas, whilst learning and growing as one of our future finance leaders.

Our Finance Graduate programme will offer a unique opportunity to work in financial accounting, management accounting, internal audit and business decision making over the three year period, allowing you to build your network and develop your financial acumen through exposure to key stakeholders within an exciting Group, whilst also gaining incredible insight into the energy industry and learning how we make a difference first hand. At the same time, you'll be studying towards your ICAS qualification with dedicated time off for learning and exams. While you complete your studies and your work experience, there will be endless opportunities to meet our various finance and business leaders, alongside the occasional visit to some of our world class energy assets!

Upon successful completion of our Finance Graduate programme you will be an ICAS Chartered Accountant with a wealth of knowledge about SSE and Finance. You'll have directly contributed to our Net Zero targets and you will also be offered a permanent position with the SSE plc Finance team.

What do I need to join?

You will have gained or be predicted to achieve a 2:1 Honours Degree in any discipline.
