Finance Assistant

Reed Accountancy Oxfordshire are currently supporting a central Oxford based prestigious organisation who are seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join their dynamic Finance team. As the Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing the Sales Ledger and invoicing. This role is a long term temporary position full time (37.5 hours per week) and is paying an hourly rate of up to £18.69per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Ledger

  • Invoice processing: Communicate with the fees team regarding fee status and general queries and processing sales ledger invoices.
  • Bank Transactions: Handle receipts and payments from the main bank account and the online payment system.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Reconcile deposits, cashless card transactions, aged debtors, deferred income, and accrued income.
  • Bad Debt Provision: Update the bad debt provision.
  • Year-End Process: Collaborate with auditors during year-end procedures.
  • Monthly Student Debt Management: Implement processes to manage student debt.
  • Direct Debit Collections: Process direct debit forms and collect payments from students and senior common room members.

Selection Criteria (Essential):

  • Education: GCSE standard with Maths at Grade A or above (or equivalent).
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail.
  • Professionalism: Mature, trustworthy, and discreet in handling sensitive information.
  • Confidence: Ability to think and act confidently.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and team-working abilities.
  • Conscientiousness: Diligent and committed.
