Automotive Body and Trim Engineer –Acoustic (NVH) Noise Reduction

About the Role:

ASL Technical is excited to partner with a global leader in the automotive industry, dedicated to the development of cutting-edge electric and hybrid vehicles. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Body and Trim Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. This role focuses on the design, development, and release of innovative solutions to reduce acoustic noise in electric and hybrid vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop body and trim components aimed at reducing acoustic noise in electric and hybrid vehicles.
  • Collaborate with NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) engineers to implement noise reduction strategies.
  • Evaluate and select materials and manufacturing processes to optimise acoustic performance.
  • Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and validation reports.
  • Work closely with suppliers to source and validate components that meet noise reduction and quality standards.
  • Work with internal and external test and development teams to validate the effectiveness of noise reduction trim solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to vehicle acoustics and NVH.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in automotive acoustics, materials, and manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally degree qualified in relevant engineering subject such as Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • You are likely to have worked in industry for a minimum of 3 years, although all relevant experience will be reviewed.
  • Strong understanding of NVH principles and acoustic analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD software, ideally NX would be advantageous, but not necessary.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
