Senior Robotics Engineer

The talent acquisition team at NET Recruit is partnering with a rapidly expanding manufacturing and technology business to assist them in their search to find a Senior Robotics Engineer to join their continuously growing team that are located within the Gloucester area. The objective of this position is to work in the heart of the business, providing support and acting in a key role for the design and development of robotics solutions for industrial applications. The position holder has the possibility to lead projects and drive forward real innovation across the team in order to meet client expectations.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

While in this role your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Taking a lead role in the development design of robotic systems, including concept, prototypes and testing, which will be designated to industrial applications
  • Integrating robotics systems into larger automation solutions in collaboration with mechanical and electrical engineers and software developers
  • Undertaking technical assessments with the focus of evaluating viability for robotic solutions to specifically set out applications
  • Developing control algorithms and software for robotic systems
  • Conducting troubleshooting, testing and system integrations to ensure that functionality, safety and reliability issues are addressed, and that the product is fit for purpose
  • Keeping knowledge up to date of advancements in sensors, control systems and actuators and other robotic technology in order to inform current work and future proposals
  • Supporting the development of junior engineers in the team, by providing excellent leadership, imparting knowledge where appropriate and promoting best practices and standards
  • Working with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure that projects meet these needs, whilst providing expert technical advice and information
  • Ensuring work complies with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Contributing to ad-hoc project management duties including budgeting and reporting as the need arises

What you need to Apply:

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a

degree in either Robotics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

(or related field) and have a minimum of

5 years experience

in

robotics engineering

, specifically with the design and development of systems for industrial applications. Naturally, applicants must have good experience of robotics programming languages including

C++, ROS, Python, RobotStudio or MATLAB/Simulink

  • The company is looking for applicants with

experience of ABB, Kuka or other robotic systems

and a good

understanding of kinematics, control theory and also dynamics.

Additional

experience should include PLC, SCADA or HMI systems

  • Good leadership and communication skills are also highly sought after for this role.

What you will get in Return:

For the successful candidate, a broad salary range is on offer, dependent on experience, qualifications and knowledge, but could see the successful candidate earning a starting salary of up to £60,000 a year.
