Our client specialises in installing all types of mechanical plants for the Water industry across the UK. They offer services including water & wastewater treatment, including design, fabrication, site installation and testing.

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their team. Reporting to the Projects Delivery Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical assembly and installation of a variety of Plant and Equipment.

This is a full-time position, working 40.5 hours per week. Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm based in Kilmaurs.

Mechanical Fitter - Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical assembly and installation of a wide variety of plant and equipment mainly within the water industry.
  • Conducting site surveys, problem-solving, and troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical plant repair, maintenance, and refurbishment.
  • Proficiency in stainless steel pipework installation and installation of Scotchkote pipework
  • Installation of secondary steelwork supports and bracketry.
  • Installation and maintenance of dry and wet well pumping stations.
  • Working in accordance with a Quality Management System

Mechanical Fitter - Requirements:

  • Experience working with materials such as mild steel, stainless steel and ductile iron pipework
  • Experience with ABS & UPVC, PE, and polypropylene fabrication & installation.
  • Experience with turnkey water and wastewater treatment plant projects
  • Experience with reservoir tower refurbishment (mechanical plant) and valve & penstock refurbishment.
  • Familiarity with the installation of odour control and air handling plant, as well as membrane and associated plant installation.
  • A thorough understanding of all relevant H&S regulations and safe systems of work.
  • Recognised practical qualifications (HND/Degree/Apprenticeship) and certificates (IOSH, CSCS Card, DOMS/National Water Hygiene etc)
  • Experience in the Water Industry and Construction Site Environments.
  • Possession of relevant and suitable hand tools.
  • Be available for travel throughout Scotland and occasionally other parts of the UK.
  • Be conscientious and meticulous in your approach to work.
