Infrastructure Engineer - Application Support

About the role

As an Infrastructure Engineer within the already established Application Support team at CBS, you will provide a deep level of technical knowledge owning complex production incidents, collaborating with other technical teams to troubleshoot and ensure a complete resolution. You will support our product teams with delivery work and run small projects to resolve ITIL defined service problems, allocating tasks to colleagues and ensuring completion of work to agreed quality criteria and timescales. Continually assessing ways of working in order to develop or revise artefacts and processes that improve both yours and the wider teams efficiency and effectiveness. You'll be a role model within the team who provides mentoring and coaching to peers and junior team members.

About you

You'll have knowledge of systems management procedures in a large commercial and mission-critical environment.

You'll be familiar with the ITIL based service management framework and change control, release procedures and tools. You'll be able to demonstrate capacity planning, performance tuning and proactive monitoring of solutions.

You'll have a proactive approach, with a desire to developing and improving processes, and a willingness and aptitude to learn new systems and further your knowledge.

You'll be able to work under broad direction and exercise substantial personal responsibility.

You'll have the ability to work in a fast past and changing environment, whilst being thorough, with good attention to detail and delivering to agreed timescales. You'll be able to articulate technical knowledge into easy-to-understand terms for all stakeholders.

You'll be flexible in your approach to working hours to meet your own objectives and assist colleagues in meeting their objectives.

We'll require you to be available for out-of-hours support, on a rota basis.

  • Good IT Infrastructure skill set with Windows Server 2008R2, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019 &/or 2022
  • Standard Infrastructure operations technologies (e.g., AD, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
  • HP Server / Blade / Cluster Technology.
  • SharePoint (2007,2013, SP Online)
  • Experience supporting applications/platforms within AWS and Azure
  • Service Now.
  • Ansible / PowerShell scripting.
  • SQL Server Database (2016 & 2019) installation & management
  • IIS, COM, web browser, .net and associated Internet/Intranet technology.
  • Knowledge/experience with Web/Email security platforms.
  • Experience working with VMware Virtualisation.
