Welcome & Service Assistant

Summary

As the public face of our properties, you'll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about our places, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit. This role will mainly be based at Heddon Valley and Lorna Doone Valley but there may be opportunities to work in other locations within North Devon.

Salary: £11.64 per hour

Contract/duration: Fixed-term until 31 Oct 2026

Hours/working pattern: This role is an hourly paid, fixed term role. Rotas will include some weekend working.

What it's like to work here

Reporting to our Welcome Manager for the Coast & Countryside, you'll be part of a team of the Visitor Experience team working in the North Devon portfolio.

What you'll be doing

Day to day, you'll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You'll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You'll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion - no two days are the same.

Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with enthusiasm for delivering great customer service.

You'll enjoy promoting the National Trust and will help the team to grow support through membership promotion and low-level fundraising opportunities, such as helping to keep our second hand book shops in great order and highlighting our property pin badges.
