This position is based on a 40-hour working week from Monday to Thursday 16:00hrs to 12:30hrs and Friday 0600hrs to 11:30hrs. There is a 30-minute unpaid break and other breaks where necessary during the night.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and unload glass products from suppliers, ensuring accuracy and quality control.
- Organise and store glass products in the warehouse ensuring proper labelling and safe storage practices.
- Prepare orders for shipment, including picking, packing, and palletizing glass products.
- Perform regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and identify any discrepancies.
- Safely operate in the vicinity of forklifts, pump trucks, and other warehouse equipment to move and transport glass products.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of orders.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse, following established standards.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with glass products and handling techniques is advantageous, but not essential.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and priorities tasks effectively.
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems and basic computer skills.
- A valid forklift operator's license is desirable, but training can be provided if necessary.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
