Catering Manager

Premier Work Support are excited to be recruiting for temporary Catering Manager for a prestigious client based near Bury Saint Edmunds. For the right candidate, there is potential for the role to go permanent.

The role of the Catering Manager is to manage and control all catering operations within the site. This will include management and leadership of the catering staff, adherence to the clients and Service User policies in line with ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditation's. Ensure that all service deliverable are fully compliant with statutory and contractual requirements, meeting expectations and returning value to all stakeholders.They will be expected to effectively manage the catering team in their duties to ensure contractual, statutory and QMS compliance for the catering services and to ensure that the services are delivered in line with budgetary requirements and profitability improved year on year.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work effectively with all other internal and external teams.
  • Identify the requirement and carry out/facilitate training.
  • Keep catering team well informed of changes within the organisation.
  • Promote a Health and Safety culture.
  • To use PPE as instructed and always to operate machinery in accordance with training.
  • Ensuring the Clients Health and Safety Plan and applicable client safety arrangements.
  • To ensure areas under your control are kept secure, clean and risks are reduced to as low as reasonably practicable.
  • Following up to ensure accidents and near misses are reported, investigated and first aid measures are maintained.
  • Ensuring employees within your control receive adequate information, instruction and training to undertake their job role safely.

Key Account abilities:

  • To produce excellent food and food service to all customers on time and in accordance with their requirements.
  • To have overall responsibility for the kitchen and service outlets.
  • To lead and manage teams as well as individuals reporting into the role.
  • To ensure the kitchen and service outlets are fully staffed.
  • To ensure accurate completion of time sheets and their delivery to the payroll administrator within defined deadlines.
  • To ensure catering stock is ordered to the correct levels, placing orders as required.
  • To have responsibility for HACCP monitoring and recording.
  • To have an in-depth understanding of food hygiene and ensure it's requirements are stringently applied.
  • Ensure client/service user orders are collected within the required deadlines and that food service accurately reflects these.
  • Undertake training deemed relevant to the position.
  • Manage staff rotas to ensure adequate and appropriate service cover at all times.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • To observe excellent personal hygiene and appearance, including uniform, presenting a professional appearance at all times.

Working Hours:

  • 37.5 hrs a week - 3 x10 hours shifts 1 x 7.5 hour shift (Every other weekend)
  • Weekend availability is required
