Indirect Tax Manager

This is a well-known, leading professional services business based in Manchester with international offices, that are looking to recruit an experienced Indirect Taxation Manager to join their well-regarded finance team. The company has gone through impressive, continuous growth over the past 20+ years and is now turning over in excess of £400m per annum. Your new role
This role will see you take over all VAT and Indirect Tax compliance and reporting for the company's global operations, reporting to the Finance Director in their Manchester office. You will also be required to:

  • Directly managing the accurate and timely submission of VAT returns for our UK entities
  • Overseeing the accurate and timely submission of VAT returns through third-party providers for non-UK entities
  • Directly liaise with local third-party accountants in relation to any indirect tax queries
  • Identify and evaluate key Indirect Tax risks, ensuring effective risk management processes are operated and reported
  • To communicate key VAT issues concisely to non-tax specialists and to influence and adopt the necessary process improvements leading to the optimisation of the indirect tax process
  • Maintain good technical knowledge and keep abreast of any indirect tax legislation changes affecting Operations
  • Line management of one team member to ensure continuous progression and work quality.
  • Develop a good commercial understanding of Recruitment Services

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A recognised finance qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, ATT, CTA etc.
  • 5 years minimum experience of indirect taxation, gained from either industry, a reputable practice, or HMRC.
  • Strong knowledge of indirect tax legislation and upcoming changes in rules and regulations.
  • Good communication skills and able to build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Comfortable utilising different IT systems, including Excel.
  • A can-do, problem-solving attitude, and comfort in managing an individual.
