We are looking for an experienced Plant Fitter to join a growing construction firm based In the Walsall area. The role will cover the East Midlands area and the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of plant machinery and equipment, ensuring that it operates efficiently and safely.
To be considered for the Plant Fitter role you must have:
- Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, ideally within the construction or engineering sectors.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant qualifications in plant maintenance or mechanical engineering (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) are preferred.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Plant Fitter role Include:
- Perform regular maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on plant machinery, including excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, and other heavy equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce machinery downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate any major repair needs.
- Ensure that all work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
