Location: Manchester or Liverpool (2 days a week in the office)
Salary: Up to £65,000
About the Role
My client are a prestigious UK-based law firm seeking a skilled and driven Technical Design Lead to join their dynamic team. This role is essential in steering and ensuring the success of their technical designs across various software projects. As a Technical Design Lead, you will:
- Collaborate with development teams to champion best practices, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the successful execution of change initiatives.
- Conduct proof of concept work to evaluate the viability of new technologies, methodologies, and design patterns.
- Provide technical mentorship to development teams, promoting a culture of learning and skill enhancement.
- Engage in research and development activities focused on emerging technologies and future organisation interests.
- Lead knowledge-sharing sessions within the IT Applications team, boosting cross-team collaboration and skills development.
- Work closely with the Infrastructure Technical Design Lead and Head of IT Applications to shape their application strategy.
- Participate in solution architecture discussions, ensuring technical designs align with the organisations goals and architectural standards.
About You
- You have a solid background in software development, particularly with experience in an object-oriented language.
- You are committed to software craftsmanship, clean code, solid principles, and service-oriented architecture.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms is desirable, aiding our cloud-centric initiatives.
