IT Compliance & Controls Manager

IT Compliance & Controls Manager needed to join our team in Watford.

The opportunity:

You will be a key member of our IT Team, helping to ensure there is a robust data & technology controls framework. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a genuine impact on the company's risk and compliance frameworks across the EMEA region.

What you'll be doing:

This position will involve the following tasks/deliverables:

  • Establishing, embedding and enhancing a comprehensive data and controls framework across the EMEA region that reflects WPP guidance;
  • Conduct regular checks and operational audits to ensure adherence to the data and controls framework;
  • Identifying potential risks and control deficiencies, and recommending appropriate actions to mitigate these risks and deficiencies;
  • Preparing detailed audit reports, highlighting findings, recommendations, and opportunities for continuous improvement;
  • Collaborating with stakeholders from across the business to foster a culture of compliance and risk management;
  • Monitor and track the implementation of audit recommendations, ensuring timely and appropriate remediation actions are taken;
  • Staying updated on changes in regulations, industry best practice and WPP guidance to ensure the data and controls framework remains effective and up-to-date;
  • Provide training and guidance to internal staff on internal controls, compliance and risk management principles.

What we want from you:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations and auditing standards;
  • Proficient in conducting audits, risk assessments, and control evaluations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficient in using audit software and other tools like Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels;
  • Strong organisation and time management skills to effectively prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently.
