Team Leader - IT Digital Web Operations

Summary

We are recruiting a full time Operations Team Lead for our IT Digital team as a Fixed-Term Contract.

In IT Digital we deliver and support the National Trust Website, Online Shop, Holidays and Ticketing solutions. We work in a Dev Ops environment with a mature CI CD release pipeline.

This role is to lead the operational team in IT Digital to ensure our systems are well maintained, secured and resilient. Both Web Operations Engineers and System Administrators work within this team.

This is a fixed term contract aligned to the return of our colleague on maternity leave and is expected to run until April 2025.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office at least monthly. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

Reporting into the Head of IT Digital you will assume line management of IT Digital Operations team (8 direct reports) consisting of Web Operations Engineers and System Administrators.

You'll manage resource scheduling of the team and prioritise workloads as well as supporting the team when outlining solutions.

The role will involve input into IT Digital Operational strategy and deputise for the Head of IT Digital when applicable.

Ensuring all systems are maintained, secure and resilient in line with internal and external standards.

You'll represent IT Digital with regards to wider discussions in IT about security, release management and operational procedures.

You will be a Technical Product Owner for all systems in Scope of IT Digital. Represent IT Digital at the NT Change Authority Board.

And will provide Incident and Problem Management support to the organisation.

Who we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • A proven track record of managing an operational team with a background in IT operational support, and the ability to build your knowledge accurately and at pace.
  • A background of working with third party support partners to manage environments, working with Supplier Management to set up support contracts and implementing new tools; including Statement of work and Contract reviews.
  • Experience of implementing security initiatives e.g. firewalls, upgrades, monitoring & alerting etc.

A working understanding of:

  • ITIL - Change management/Incident management
  • System administration, infrastructure management/AWS/Kubernetes
  • CI CD pipeline management/continuous delivery/Dev ops
  • Agile Methodologies
  • CIST
