Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (pro-rata)
Hours: Full-time, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

About the Opportunity:

We are partnering with a leading organization in Ashby-de-la-Zouch to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager for a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a prime opportunity for a senior payroll professional to take on a critical role, driving the payroll function during a pivotal period for the business.

In this role, you will oversee the payroll operations for a workforce of 2,400 employees, all paid monthly via the Cascade payroll system. You will be stepping in to provide leadership and strategic support as the company navigates several significant projects. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring seamless payroll processing while contributing to process enhancements and project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end payroll process for 2,400 employees, ensuring precision, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Provide strategic and operational support to the senior leadership team, particularly during the execution of critical payroll projects.
  • Drive improvements in payroll processes and systems, leveraging your expertise to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure all payroll reporting, reconciliations, and statutory submissions are completed to the highest standard and within deadlines.
  • Maintain the integrity of payroll data within the Cascade system, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex payroll queries, providing expert guidance and resolution.
  • Stay at the forefront of payroll legislation and ensure the company remains compliant and informed of best practices.

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive experience in payroll management, ideally with experience overseeing large payrolls (1,000+ employees).
  • In-depth knowledge of the Cascade payroll system and the ability to drive system improvements.
  • Proven ability to manage complex payroll operations with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Advanced understanding of current payroll legislation and best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change within a team.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and employees at all levels.
  • A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of managing both day-to-day operations and long-term projects.
