We are currently seeking a dedicated and strategic Category Buyer to join our Procurement & Supply Chain team in Leigh. This exciting role involves managing the purchase of goods to drive cost savings, quality, and efficiency.

Description

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality and delivery targets are met.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Analyse market trends and apply insights to procurement strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
  • Identify risks and opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in the Procurement & Supply Chain department.

Profile

A successful Category Buyer should have:

  • Proven experience in a similar procurement role within the FMCG industry.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and financial acumen.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Job Offer

  • A competitive salary range of around £33,000 - £38,000 per year.
