School Cleaner

- 15 hours per week, Monday – Friday (15:15 – 18:15)
- Permanent position (41 weeks per year)
- £11.59 per hour

The Role
As a School Cleaner, you will be an integral part of the Premises Team, helping to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean classrooms, kitchens, toilets, and public areas
- Mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and buffing floors
- Emptying bins and moving rubbish to designated collection points
- Replenishing consumables (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels)
- Using cleaning products and equipment safely
- Reporting items requiring repair or replacement
- Adhering to health and safety guidelines and school policies
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who can work independently and as part of a team. You will take pride in your work and contribute positively to the school community. You will have:
- Close attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning (desirable)
- Familiarity with using cleaning machinery such as buffing and carpet cleaning machines (desirable)
- Basic knowledge of manual handling and health and safety practices (desirable)
