Overview:

As an IT Support Apprentice, you'll be the first point of contact for all RCP IT services users. Working at our stunning Regent's Park office, you will support staff by troubleshooting and resolving desktop and IT issues. You'll assist in managing desktop assets, support call logging, and help with trend analysis to improve service delivery.

You will gain hands-on experience by working individually and as part of a team, interacting with users in person, over the phone, via Teams, and through our ticketing system. With the guidance of experienced Desktop Support Analysts and the IT Service Manager, you'll develop key technical skills while pursuing professional qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line support and triage of service requests
  • Resolve or escalate incidents in line with service targets
  • Monitor and track progress of incidents, keeping users updated
  • Work with the IT team to introduce innovations and improve service
  • Support desktop management and assist in call trend analysis

Required skills:

  • Strong commitment to learning and developing IT skills
  • Positive and can-do attitude
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent customer service focus

The following experience would also be beneficial:

  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows and Office 365
  • Basic knowledge of computer components
  • Some experience in IT support

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

35 hours per week
