Buyer / Yeovil / £18.19 per hour
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our clients Category Management team.
As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in executing the Procure-to-Pay process within your assigned geography. You'll handle transactional activities related to purchasing, ensuring timely and effective processing of Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs). Your focus will be on maintaining accuracy, addressing transactional issues, and collaborating with internal departments and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Process all Purchase Requisitions promptly, seeking support from Commodity Specialists when necessary for sourcing and contracting.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders for requests from internal client functions
- Address transactional issues related to PO execution and acknowledgement, including invoicing management.
- Handle PO-related matters such as Quality Notifications, Export paperwork, lead time management, and vendor agreements.
- Collaborate with internal departments for PR processing and PO management.
- Contribute to achieving operational performance KPIs while providing excellent service to internal clients.
- Verify the correctness and accuracy of information in PRs and POs.
- Perform spot buys within defined delegation limits, aligning with the overall Category strategy and pre-selected suppliers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Commercial, Engineering, CIPS, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of related work experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and abroad to meet with suppliers.
This is a one year temporary contract with the potential to extend
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Hybrid
