Accounts Payable/Purchase Ledger Clerk

Berry Recruitment are pleased to be able to offer this pivotal role within a reputable and fast growing organisation client based within the Aylesbury area.

Role: Accounts Payable Clerk Purchase Ledger

Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

Hours: 08:00 - 17:00 Monday - Friday

Salary: £24,000 - £27,000

Benefits: Onsite Parking available and 23 days annual leave

This is a commercially focused role to ensure the timely processing of timesheets, expenses and purchase invoices.

Key Responsibilities:

TIMESHEETS

  • Logging all timesheet mail that arrives.
  • Checking all timesheets that come, that project numbers & job numbers are correct.
  • Ensuring receipt of all corresponding worksheets.
  • Entering the Hours onto operations system if they are not there.
  • Passing to authoriser to sign off
  • Filing all paper work
  • Dealing with all queries to do with timesheets
  • Chasing all contractors that are late with timesheets
  • Teaching new contractors how to fill out timesheets
  • Logging out Timesheet

EXPENSES

  • Checking, processing & paying staff expenses on a weekly basis.
  • Ensuring correct VAT is applied.

PURCHASE LEDGER

  • Matching & coding invoices and credit notes to PO.
  • Entering invoices and credit notes on operations system
  • Ensuring VAT is correct.
  • Running Reports to post invoices from Operations system to financial system.
  • Preparing Invoices for payment runs.
  • Statement reconciliations.
  • Month End Procedures
  • Deal with invoice queries by phone & e-mail, working to ensure no invoices or debit balances remain open over 60 days old - if they are, the queries are in the process of being resolved.
  • Query resolution for both internal and external queries Liaise with internal
  • departments to resolve queries

Candidate Specification:

  • Methodical and organised
  • Good at juggling tasks and prioritising
  • A good Team player
  • Computer literate (Excel - Vlook up and Pivot, Word, Emails etc)
  • A good level of English spelling and grammar.
  • Accurate with good attention to detail
  • Focused Show initiative
