The role:

  • As Senior Trade Planning Manager you will drive category and sales growth through campaigns and promotions, focusing on delivering on improving customer perception (e.g. value, choice, service)
  • Working as part of the wider customer marketing team the Senior Trade Planning Manager will lead a small team to develop the commercial proposition for all campaigns and promotions. This will be across key trading events such as Christmas through to smaller opportunities such as seasonal ranges
  • Using data and insight to maximize commercial opportunities Senior Trade Planning Manager will create commercial briefs that are used cross functionally by Marketing, Sales, Merchandising, Buying and Pricing & Promotions to ensure commercial targets are delivered
  • The Senior Trade Planning Manager will engage with a wide range of stakeholders across the business including the C suite and senior leadership team and will produce presentations that are communicated across the business.
  • The Senior Trade Planning Manager will work closely with the trade marketing team who are responsible for driving the marketing implementation
  • In the role the Senior Trade Planning Manager will develop the strategic plan that will deliver short, medium and long term growth.

Ideal candidate:

  • This Senior Trade Planning Manager role is ideal for a commercial individual who has category, trade or customer planning experience from a fast paced UK retailer (needs to be an FMCG focused retailer).
  • Ideally you will have been in a buying role at some point in your career, also open to candidates from the supply base but ideally will have done a buying role at some point.
  • You must be highly organised and process driven and be able to manage multiple projects
  • It is essential to be able to demonstrate hands on commercial understanding and have a focus on driving sales from your career.
  • You must be able to show good commercial acumen, strong analytical and problem solving skills along with excellent communication skills
  • Must be a fantastic relationship builder with the ability to work cross functionally internally and externally at the same time it is essential to have a strong strength of character and gravitas
  • In addition, you will demonstrate a passion for the customer and a flair for commerciality
  • You will have excellent data and insight skills and be highly accomplished at pulling together compelling presentations
