One of the UK's most highly renowned FMCG manufacturing companies is seeking a skilled Site Services / Utilities Engineer to join their team in Gloucester. This role is integral to maintaining the efficiency of our utility systems and services that support high-speed food processing and production operations.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Manage the operation and maintenance of site utilities, including water, steam, refrigeration, and compressed air systems.
- Perform reactive and planned maintenance on utilities infrastructure to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and repair site services equipment, including pumps, compressors, boilers, and HVAC systems.
- Collaborate with production teams to maintain seamless operations and ensure minimal downtime.
- Implement continuous improvement practices focusing on optimizing utility performance and reducing energy usage.
- Participate in project work related to utilities systems including installations, upgrades, and modifications.
- Conduct both mechanical and electrical fault finding on utility systems and associated equipment.
Requirements:
- Ideal qualifications include a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent (minimum NVQ Level 3 Engineering).
- Practical experience in a utilities or site services role within the food or FMCG/packaging industry.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Comfortable with large mechanical repairs and installations.
- Familiarity with maintenance practices for industrial utilities such as pumps, compressors, and HVAC systems.
- Understanding of regulations and best practices for site services and utilities management.
