Finance Manager - Construction Elland £60K - £65K + Benefits

We are recruiting for a leading construction to recruit a Finance Manager to join their highly successful team in West Yorkshire.

As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience in the construction industry. The candidate should be either qualified or QBE.

Finance Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing P&L and balance sheet with detailed reconciliations against budget and forecast for sign off by HOF
  • Managing month end close
  • Taking ownership of the month end Commercial processes including production of CVRs, Revenue and Cost reconciliations and Master Commercial File for review by HOF, CCO and CFO
  • Producing management accounts, assisting with production of monthly divisional reporting packs for HOF
  • Overseeing sales ledger; driving of cash management (receipts and payments) including retentions
  • Overseeing cashbook management including reconciliation review and short-term forecasting
  • Interrogation of key central overhead accounts, including cost allocation and accruals management
  • Overseeing the subcontract and purchase ledger and the purchase to pay process
  • Communicating and reviewing data/reports with central overhead budget holders
  • Assisting with year-end audit process
  • Preparation of reporting documents for HMRC, including PAYE, CIS, VAT
  • Conducting ad hoc analysis as requested by HOF
  • Assisting in data gathering for use in future acquisitions or disposals
  • Developing sales ledger and accounts assistant roles and overseeing training requirements to ensure ownership of financial ledgers

Finance Manager Essential Experience:

  • Long-term contract accounting experience
  • Construction experience preferred
  • P&L and balance sheet management experience
  • Forecasting/budgeting experience
  • Strong analytical skills required, particularly Excel
  • Strong reporting capability - clear, concise, accurate and well-presented
  • Experience of close cash management essential
