Finance Assistant
Dewsbury
£27k to £29k depending on experience.
- 25 days holidays plus bank holidays.
- Holidays increasing by 1 day per year after 3 years (up to 28 days).
- Pension: Employer contribution 5% (rising to 6% in July 2025)
- Death in Service Benefit: 1 x annual salary
- Company-Funded Health Plan.
Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm (30 min unpaid lunch)
Friday 8:00am to 1:30pm
We are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant with strong payroll experience to join a small, dynamic team in Dewsbury. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the Finance Director and Payroll Manager, supporting the financial operations of four trading companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with payroll processing (timesheets, holiday tracking, monthly payroll) using Sage Payroll
- Processing purchase orders and reconciling invoices
- Supporting Sales and Purchase Ledger activities, including invoice and statement processing
- Assisting with ad hoc financial reports and project work as required
Skills and Experience Required:
- Payroll processing experience, ideally with Sage Payroll
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Sage
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to work flexibly as part of a team
